Two
goals by Owen Coyle - both from the penalty spot - led
Airdrieonians back to the top of Division One on a night
to forget for Clyde.
The
Bully Wee were left with 10 men after defender Bryan Smith
was sent off after only 13 minutes when he handled Mark
Roberts' goalbound shot.
And,
from the resultant penalty, Coyle easily scored to give
Airdrie the lead.
As
Clyde pushed forward, Roberts added a second four minutes
later when he dragged the ball across the face of the
goal before firing into the net.
Even
better was to follow for Airdrie when Jack Ross pushed
Lee Gardner inside the penalty area in 26 minutes and
Coyle knocked in a third, again from the penalty spot.
Coyle
came close to his hat-trick just a minute from the interval
with a clever lob that swirled just past the post.
Clyde
fought back in the second period, but they rarely troubled
the Airdrie defence, though Craig Cranmer came close with
a header on the hour mark.
