In
a pulsating first half St Mirren and Airdrie both played
attractive football and created good opportunities but
had to be content with a point each in a goalless draw.
Airdrie
came closer to opening the scoall over thering when Mark
Roberts lifted the b crossbar from four yards out after
a Coyle cross.
Prior
to that, forward Alex Burns had his shot saved by goalkeeper
Allan Ferguson who was outstanding with three great saves
in the closing minutes of the first period.
In
the second half, there were several near misses at both
ends - the closest of which came from Airdrie's Roberts.
His
chipped effort shaved a post and a header creeping under
the crossbar was brilliantly tipped over by keeper Ludovic
Roy.
With
both keepers on fantastic form it was hard to see where
anyone was going to get a goal from.
